Joseph Lupino - Performer and Author
Encore Musical Showcase has sponsored Joseph in many avenues of his creative life: he has been a talent of theirs for years.
He started singing at the age of 5 when his grandfather, a minister, called on him to sing his first solo in church, and this was the beginning. In the forthcoming book "ABOUT THE SINGER," (estimated publication date 2nd quarter 2011) Joseph tells of his life that many people do not know.
Joseph began radio and television appearances at an early age in New York. Working his way through college, he was a featured vocalist in every musical group he had time for and made his first official recording in 1957; in the years since, he has made many more while travelling and performing throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, and through the magic of radio he was featured in other areas of the world including Europe, South Africa and Australia. Joseph had several of his own radio shows throughout the United States, yet more personal appearances demanded extensive travel – concerts, then fund raisers for various hospitals, etc., which lead to more recordings.
Joseph started getting very weary from living out of suitcases, so he began to write books of poetry that were introspective, yet universal...again, they were featured on TV and book signing events at some of the largest book stores from coast to coast.
Taking a brief sabbatical, he settled down and did some work in Nashville and then cut a CD locally which is still available and soon will release another, recorded at Sound Mark Studios.
Joseph now resides in Virginia, loving the tranquility and hospitality of the South, which is quite different from the hustle and bustle of New York. Some of his poetry books are still in print, as is his last CD, entitled "Legacy."
