Joseph Lupino is a certified massage therapist, a certified reflexologist, a college graduate, a former Nuclear Medicine Technician, and also served as a Medical Assistant. He served as massage therapist with a prominent neurologist in the treatment of chronic myofascial pain. In Joseph's massage profession, his expertise lies in the application of Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Shiatsu, Myofasicial Release, Pre and Post Natal Massage, and he is certified in Hot Stone Therapy.
He graduated in good standing from the "original" Pauline Fuller School of Massage Therapy in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He also assisted Ms. Fuller in opening schools in Richmond, Newport News and expanding the Virginia Beach School. He was the Director of Massage Therapy for 15 years at Abbey Associates. Joseph worked as a Chiropractic Assistant for several years and the treatment of chronic and myofascial pain. In addition to teaching massage therapy in several schools, he lectured and conducted workshops along the east coast for schools, other professionals and large corporations to assist in educating the public on therapeutic benefits of massage. He served as a consultant for "Safe Touch" seminars.
Joseph has been active in many professional organizations. He served as President of the local chapter of the Tidewater American Massage Therapy Association. He also served as Treasurer for the State division of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association). He was then appointed to a position on the national level as Commissioner of Accreditation.
Joseph has become a member of the Patient Family Advocate Council volunteer services of Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Joseph's love for life is filled to capacity, when he is not working as a Massage Therapist, he is busy rehearsing music. He has studied voice for years. He is a recording artist, with several recordings to his credit. He is a contemporary Christian artist for Encore Musical Showcase and performs in concert when he has the time. In the mix of his musical endeavors, he has written several books of poetry which have been successfully published.
With all of his artistic, creative nature, Joseph loves to have a quiet dinner with his family and friends, watch a good movie, and spend time with his three Yorkies, Zoey, Bella and Peppi. He cherishes the private times with friends and family.
